ANEZ ANZARE OPENS ULTRA LUXURY UNISEX SALON

From working as a footpath vendor to becoming a celebrity stylist, the journey of Anez Hazare comes straight out an Indian movie.

As one enters the newly-opened luxury salon of Anez Anzare, near Vytilla, you can feel the larger-than-life luxury it offers. Mirror-like vitrified tiles, sparkling crystal chandeliers and suspension light adorn the ceiling. One can also see splashes of gold and silver colours that runs across all accessories in the 4000 sq. ft. salon. Huge mirrors, varying in size, shape and design decorate the walls. There is an abundance of metallic accents in gold and silver with expensive wallpapers - in gold, silver and white. The area around the mirrors has warm light decors and almost real flowers making it a perfect encapsulation of timeless, glamorous and contemporary designs.

Anez Hazare is the doyen makeup artist. There possibly could be no celebrity in Kerala who has not been styled by Anez.He gained appreciation from celebrities with his unique style, which is simple, light yet classy. Back in 2010, Malayalam industry’s leading actor Navya Nair approached him to do her bridal makeup. The results mesmerised the stars and they recognised the master artist in Anez. The top celebrities of Mollywood made a beeline to get styled by Anez. He is the personal favourite of many leading stars.

THE UNISEX SALON

The salon has a separate space for the bride and groom to get ready for their big day. Each of these rooms has varying design elements and colours.
“Before their big day, a trial is a must. Without trials, I don't entertain customers. The trials give confidence to the bride and groom to power dress on their big day,” said Anez. “At my salon, the groom and bride can get ready in adjacent rooms and then immediately go for a photo shoot at the salon itself. Space has been designed exclusively for its. Before they begin perspiring in the balmy weather of Kochi the couples can get the best shot together.”
With this vision, Anez created a luxurious corridor with intricately designed panelling with large doses of gold and warm lights in the corners. But then again, Anez is known in the fashionista circles for his bold approach. Four years ago, when he opened an exclusive bridal make-up centre in Kochi, his celebrity friends warned him about the idea. But Anez proved them wrong. In the last four years, he has styled over 2800 brides at his studio.


Anez’s meteoric rise in the beauty industry is as dramatic as the movies. Young Anez worked as a street vendor in Convent junction seven years ago. “I have risen from the streets and life has filled me with steely guts right from there,” said Anez. He was fond of reading and the love for novels created a desire in him to become a director in the Malayalam film industry. But destiny had an alternate plan for him. He began working as an assistant to makeup artist Renjith Ambady. Later he moved to Manorama channel as Make-up artist and by 2010 began working independently. There was no looking back since then.

In the fraternity, he is the most sought-out and taking advantage of this brand name he opened bridal makeup studios in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam and Thrissur as well. Within five years he opened eight outlets across Kerala. He uses as well as sells the best professional range of cosmetics and is the only dealer of those brands in Kerala.


But Anez is not carried away by the celebrity fare. “Till date, I have not posed for a photograph with any celebrity,” he said, while showing his Instagram photos of his work. There seems to be no insecurity for him and that is why he teaches customers the art of self make-up for those who buy the cosmetics from the studio.


LEARNING THE ART OF SELF MAKE UP

Anez has a flair to explain things in a way others can easily understand. Since 2012, he has taught the art of styling to thousands. He is also the exclusive dealer in Kerala for many international brands. “Those who buy these products, I teach them the art of doing self-makeup in just three hours,” says Anez

When asked whether teaching customers would result in taking away the possibility of them visiting again, Anez disagreed. "Sharing deepens skills but in my experience customers have only increased,” said the man who has styled a record number of 15 brides on a single day.


FUTURE

He plans to open a full-fledged makeup academy at Palarivattom. “Right now it is to give customers the best facelift in the most ultra-modern ambience,” he said.
